Information Panel – Diving in Turkey

Kas is one of the best places for scuba diving in the Mediterranean sea. Kas offers more than 25 different dive sites - there is something for every taste: amazing shipwrecks, drop offs, caves, underwater canyons, bizarre underwater landscapes, ancient amphorae and lots more. The over-average variety of marine life, the clear & warm water (visibility up to 40 meter / 130 feet, water temperatures up to 28 degrees Celsius) as well as the professional diving logistics places the diving area of Kas to the "Top 100" of the world's best diving destinations.

The region of Kekova gets its name from this island opposite Kalekoy (Simena). It is just ten minutes offshore by boat from Üçağız or can be reached by boat from Kas. You will cruise along the site of a Lycian City where underwater ruins and houses on the hillside can be seen. Boats dock at the inlet of Tersane (An ancient bay where shipping repairs once took place) here you stop for a barbecue or fresh Turkish Pancakes for lunch. There are ruins of a Byzantine church and monastery scattered along the shore.
