As you would expect most of the shops in Kaş are aimed at the tourist market. There are a large number of small, independent gift, jewellery and clothes shops in the old part of town. Many of these shops sell merchandise created by the owner and are therefore unique. There are no big shopping centres or chain stores and people will generally wander around the small shopping streets in the evening.

There are a few supermarkets, other food shops and a large market every Friday

Kas has some charming balconied shops where you can spend a lot of time. The streets of Kas have souvenir shops which are some of the best places throughout the region and who sell locally made craft items. There are several small retailers on the famous Uzun Çarsi (Long Market) who sell elegant carpets, pottery, ceramics, locally made fabrics, wooden furniture, jewellery and Turkish glass lanterns. Turkish shop keepers are very courteous. As soon as you enter their shop, they are sure to offer you something to eat and drink, you are not obligated to buy even if you take their offer. If you have a penchant for silver then Silver Harmoni on Uzun Çarsi Caddesi is the right place to head to. Then go around the corner to Silk Road where you can imagine yourself on a caravan across the "wilds" of Anatolia. While planning your trip to Kas, do make sure that you get to spend a Friday here. This way you can visit the Friday Market (pazar) on the Kas-Fethiye Road. This market is held at the top end of the town, by the side of the bus station (otogar). Here you can get good deals if you plan to buy fresh produce, textiles or clothes. You can also just browse around and enjoy the local ambience of Kas shops selling teas and colourful spices.
Turkey is well known for the carpets and kilims made here. The designs and symbols on the carpet may vary according to the region where the carpet is woven, but they are all symbols and designs used in ancient Anatolian religions and by Turkish nomads. These took shape around shamanic beliefs nearly 1000 or more years ago. There are many shops which exclusively sell handmade kilims and carpets and these can be found in any major Turkish city and in the tourist spots. Source: Kas Adventure Travel
You can buy tourist kitsch in Kaþ but there are also excellent carpet shops and many quality jewellery shops. Some of the jewellery and fine ceramics are made by local artists in their own shops. Kaþ has endless varieties of shopping experiences, often of higher quality than most tourist towns, but most importantly, strict regulations the local government has placed on its market mean the shop owners are simply not allowed to hassle you. Complaints about a shop owner can result in the loss of their operating license.
Uzun Çarşı (long market or "slippery sokak") is the most famous shopping street in Kaþ and arguably one of the most famous on the "Turkish Riviera." Long on quality and short on kitsch, from late April until after the end of October, this is a bee hive of activity. There are a few restaurants and bars just off of Uzun Çarşı and at the bottom is the town square (meydan) and at the top, just beyond the Lycian Tomb are a fantastic group of restaurants. Source: iguide
